How to choose

How to choose a gift for a beach or pool lover

  1. Who it's for

A swimmer, a sunbaker, a family with young kids and a host with a full house each want something different. Start with how they spend a summer day.

  2. Where they'll use it

For the pool, the Floating Lounger floats and doubles as poolside seating. For the beach, think shade first (an umbrella or a cabana), then a lounger and a towel. Shade and towels work in the backyard too.

  3. Your budget

The Beach Towel is $99, the Beach Lounger $149, the Beach Umbrella $219, the Floating Lounger $279 and the Beach Cabana $299. Gift cards come in amounts from $50 to $500.

  4. When it needs to arrive

We ship from Melbourne. Standard delivery takes from 1–3 business days in Victoria to 5–10 in the Northern Territory, and 4–10 to New Zealand. Umbrellas and cabanas need a street address. A gift card is emailed, so it can arrive the same day.

Gift questions

+Is filling included with the Floating Lounger?
No. The Floating Lounger ($279) arrives as a cover and inner liner, without filling. It takes about 600 L of outdoor bean bag fill (EPS beads), or a little more for a firmer feel. If it's a gift, it's worth telling them, or buying the fill too.
+Can I send it straight to someone?
Yes. Enter their name and address as the delivery address at checkout. Umbrellas and cabanas travel by freight, so they need a street address, not a PO Box. To send a message with your gift, the House of Dune gift card can be emailed to them with your note, straight away or on a date you choose.
+What if it won't arrive in time?
Send a House of Dune gift card ($50 to $500). It's emailed, so there's no shipping: it can arrive instantly, or on the day you choose. They pick what they'd like.
+What's a good beach gift under $100?
The House of Dune Beach Towel ($99): 100% cotton at 630 GSM, oversized at about 180 × 104 cm and reversible. Or a gift card from $50.
+What's a good gift for someone with a pool?
The House of Dune Floating Lounger ($279). It's a bean bag lounger that floats in the pool and works as poolside seating, and it fits two. The Olefin cover is quick-dry, UPF 50+ and removable for washing. Two of them come to $558. Filling is not included.
+What can I get a beach lover who already has an umbrella?
The House of Dune Beach Lounger ($149) folds in three, has a lightweight aluminium frame and a removable, machine-washable cover. For more shade, the Beach Cabana ($299) covers a 200 × 200 cm footprint, stands 225 cm high and packs into a carry bag of about 7 kg.
+What if the gift isn't quite right?
Unused items in their original packaging, including the shipping box, can be returned within 30 days of delivery for a change of mind, as a House of Dune Gift Card with no expiry date; return postage is at the customer's cost. Faulty items are covered by our 12-month warranty, in addition to your rights under consumer law. Details are in our Refund Policy and on our Shipping & Returns page.
